There is a lot going on at Ohio State your first semester, but it is important to remember that the main reason you are here is to excel academically. We are committed to helping you find your academic place here at Ohio State by introducing you to the College of Arts and Sciences.
The College of Arts and Sciences is the academic heart of the university. Arts and Sciences is made up of 39 departments exploring fields of study ranging from the arts and humanities to the social and behavioral sciences to the natural and mathematical sciences. Of the 56,000 students enrolled at Ohio State, the majority are undergraduate students. Arts and Sciences currently has approximately 16,000 undergraduate students on the Columbus campus pursuing one or more of its nearly 80 majors.
The honors academic advisors in the Arts and Sciences Honors Office want to assist you in exploring the academic opportunities at Ohio State and in the College of Arts and Sciences, so that you can make the most of your college experience. Furthermore, we are dedicated to helping you plan your degree. Degree planning is the main focus of the Arts and Sciences 1100.01H college survey course that you will be taking your first semester at Ohio State.
